.I need to find a good mystery author that has tons of books to listen to while I work on my bathroom remodel. I've been struggling to pay attention lately because of the craziness from the holidays but once I zone in on laying flooring and painting I'm going to need a good book lol.
I really enjoy Lisa Gardner and Karin slaughter books. Both are more thrillers. Jeffrey deaver is great too if you’re looking for more police procedural dad style books. For cozy mysteries I really love both the lily bard and aurora teagarden books by charaline Harris -

104 books (52 each of physical and audio). At least one non fiction a month.
Also doing a low buy. Allowing myself to purchase at library book sales (4 a year and only $1 a book). I can only buy new if; 1. Its from an auto buy author (Grady Hendrix, Riley sager, Tj Klune)
2. It’s for book club and I can’t get it on Libby.
3. It’s a new release in a series I’ve already read and own all previous books. -

SophiaPetrillo we agree, Darlene spent most of the time alone.
A few things we noticed or looked for:
Stupid sleeping in jeans & a hoodie, his jacket on the dining chair, no wedding ring, it's dark out.
She says it's Christmas morning, but is it? Why is he fully dressed for the day & already asleep if it's morning? Who naps just after waking up? Looks like nighttime to us.
Look under the tV at 1:09. It's a roll up mat of some sort or a blow up mattress? Is that for someone to sleep on?
Gifts all opened & never seen. Then only Sarah on the couch. Main floor is empty of others.
That part where she is sitting at the table alone showing the card. Completely fake. No date on the card, generic writing & she's never shown the inside of a card before.
Where is Stupids ANNUAL Christmas breakfast? She wrote it down that HE was making his USUAL big breakfast, then we saw one plate with reheated casserole, bacon & potatoes. Worst breakfast ever.
Sarah on couch with cat, no one else around -not even Stupid.
New Keurig on floor in dining area.
Football Sarah wanted to see because of Taylor Swift. Only the tv shown.
Disgusting turkey dinner filmed so close up, we can't even see any Christmas day-cor on the counter. Absolutely was from Thanksgiving. Possibly was from then & just not eaten because no one was around. It looked like it was frozen & being thawed, doesn't it? It didn't look freshly made.
Who is standing between the kitchen & dining area as Darlene films her mom on the couch with the dog? Sarah? Stupid? They're just standing there looking into the living room.
Sarah finally comes into the living room & sits on the cardboard bench across from her grandmother. Pats watch says 3:10pm.
Stupid takes Pat home & Darlene heats up dinner. One dinner plate is shown on an unset table. No other plates, no other people. Her Christmas tablecloth is on, so we believe this is what was eaten, BUT we also believe that food was frozen & reheated. We don't believe Stupid was there for dinner.
The walk. We think it was Stupid walking Hunter & couldn't make out if Sarah was even there at all. Hard to see who or how many were walking ahead of her.
Back home only Darlene in the dark living room probably drinking.
We never really saw Sarah or the cat again after seeing her when Pat was there.
Not once was Stupid within 10 feet of her (at least when awake).
All that IT WAS PREFECT, IT WAS MAGICAL was never seen.
Conclusion: Darlene lies.
Nothing was as she tried to make it seem. I believe Sarah was around for a minimal amount of time & Stupid around even less. We never even saw Andrew anywhere on the main floor of the house.
Pat could have been picked up by Sarah or Stupid, but stayed less than a couple hours. She was spared that reheated disgusting food thank
goodness.
Yup, Darlene spent most of the holiday alone. Well, Andrew was home, but since he is banished to the basement, she was alone. That last video was spliced together from other times & as hard as she tried, her Christmas was lonely & empty. Once the gifts were open, I think Sarah fled. She probably took her grandmother back, stayed with her for a bit & went home.
She was never shown after Christmas afternoon.
Now I'm just looking forward to the scheduled depression. Maybe some truth will finally seep out. Christmas wasn't MAGICAL or PERFECT.

At the 3 minute mark she’s talking about the card Steve got and said he left a CHRISTMAS card in his glove box. Am I imaging things or has she told this exact story but for an anniversary or valentines card? Also on the card bit someone commented saying how sweet the card from Steve was. Ummm I’m confused he literally bought someone else’s words and signed it how is that sweet and romantic? -
.What app does everyone use to keep track of what they’ve read? I used storygraph and I’m not really loving it. I always have to reinstall the app because it stops working.

The Christmas party for Andrew was the 22nd and I can post the proof of it. Steve was the only one who picked up Andrew. There wasn't a happy family 3 plus a kitten in a carrier picking up "Uncle" Andrew that day. I bet every baker this video was multiple days or even footage from last year she did post in today's video. That poor kitten was petrified of the Linus. She jumped back every time he went near her. I don't know what Sarah was thinking bringing her to that house. What was that room Maggie's litter box was in? I have never seen it before. I looked clean and organized. Must not have been in the Travis home.

- 5 tablespoons butter are 500 cals
- 28oz of cream cheese are 2700 cals (you read that correctly)
- 1 cup powdered sugar is 470 cals
- 1/4 molasses is 245 cals
- 2 cups of Cool Whip is 480 cals
5425 calories total, loaded with fat and sugar, and the recipe alleges 12 slices, so 452 calories per slice, not including the toppings I'm sure Darlene will add. In contrast, a Starbucks cranberry bliss bar is 290 calories, a Starbucks gingerbread loaf slice is 380, and a slice of store-bought, frozen Cheesecake Factory cheesecake is 390.
LOL at DarGigantic saying she prefers a "lighter dessert!" I'm sure she believes a cheese puffs are a "light snack," too.
We didn't see the grocery hauls of chips, soda, charcuterie board stuff, the bacon/sausage breakfasts. We already know about all of the store-bought cookies and muffins in addition to the candy, the ice cream, the homemade treats galore, taco dip and chips, bacon jalapeno poppers, chicken wings, pizza.
But Darlene wants viewers to know she's fat because she does not have the time to make her health a priority. It's an issue of having time, not an issue of constantly making horrendous choices.
The whole not having time to make her health a priority has always been wild to me. By her logic doesn’t it actually WASTE her time to constantly be making baked goods she’s not good at and doesn’t need? Because she has zero sense of efficiency I’m guessing she spent at least 7-8 hours making, cleaning up, and storing THOUSANDS of calories of cookies and desserts for a family of 3 over the course of a few days. Not to mention the time finding the recipes, and shopping for the ingredients. The quickest meals I cook are also the healthiest 9/10 times. I can make a protein and roasted veg in 30 minutes max all on one pan in the oven with less that 5 minutes of actual prep time. A go to for us is sweet potatoes, chicken thighs and roasted green beans. Sure it takes about an hour because I bake the sweet potatoes whole but I’ll make 5 or 6 sweet potatoes, a whole Sam’s club pack of boneless skinless thighs and two bags of frozen green beans and we have enough for 3 or 4 meals with almost no clean up. -

My god, the stank from his shoes was so bad the frebreeze didn’t even help. It masked the smell for a while but he went thru lots of wrestling shoes during those years.
My son plays year round soccer often times in the rain. We easily go through 3 or 4 pairs of cleats a year because the absolute stench that comes off of them. Truly one of the worst aromas I’ve ever had the displeasure of experiencing. We’ve tried everything. Making sure they are aired out and dry, baking soda, different shoe inserts, febreeze, etc. nothing masks the smell and often with febreeze it just makes it worse.
On a related note did she just admit she only vacuums her couch quarterly at most? How often do people vacuum their’s? We have a dog and 3 cats so I surface vacuum ours every week as part of my cleaning routine cleaning all the exposed area and remove the cushions to get under them once a month. -

I’ve made the gingerbread bars. Ignore Darlene’s they are delicious. I’ve actually made 4 batches this year for various get together and they’ve been a hit at every one. Because I’ve made them so often this month I know what they are supposed to look like and Darlene’s isn’t it. Hers are SO DAMN DRY she could have rolled the dough out with how dry and crumbly it was. I don’t think she knows how to properly measure flour and really should just use the scale instead because it’s more accurate and as a bonus less dishes. All of the recipes in Sally’s baking addiction have measurements in grams/mL. If she’s going to insist on using measuring cups she needs to make sure she’s using the spoon and level method. Just based on the appearance of her flour heap and what the dough looked like she had an extra half cup of flour.
She also never creams the butter and sugar long enough. No sugar granules should be viable before continuing on in the recipe.
She turns the kitchenaid on too high of a speed after adding the flour every damn time. That’s why it goes everywhere. There’s a stir speed on the machine for a reason. -

Lots of repetitive talk about her taste in music which is basic at best. She thinks she’s so cool listening to that rock and roll and Mariah Carey.
I personally can’t stand the song all I want for Christmas is you. I’m an atheist but my favorite Christmas music are hymns probably a little weird but they have so much soul. Mary did you know and hallelujah are my personal favorites. The theory of a deadman cover of hallelujah is one of my top favorite songs of all times and gives me goosebumps every single time I listen.
One thing I’ve noticed about Darlene’s taste in music is it’s all what was popular at each given time period and very commercial. She doesn’t seem to listen to much that wasn’t played on repeat on the radio or has much heart. Her entire personality is whatever “everyone” else likes or is on trend. -
.My favorite perfume that I buy maybe once every five years is only $170 for 5oz. What’s she buying Baccarat Rouge? Although I’m equally thrilled with an FFM from Bath & Body Works or a little something from Sol de Janeiro.
The kicker of this is that Ariana Grande's Cloud perfume is less than $50 and smells so much like Baccarat Rouge that I get asked almost every time I wear it if that's what it is. Thank god for stripper tok teaching me this, I can wear Tom Ford and no one says a thing but I wear Cloud and old ladies will stop me in elevators.
Cloud is so under rated. I buy a lot of perfume and cloud is one of the ones I get comments about the most. You can get it at Tj Maxx for like $30 a bottle. -

She burned the white chocolate and that’s why it wasn’t white. It had nothing to do with the fact that she used a bar instead of chips. You dont melt chocolate directly in a pan over a hot burner ESPECIALLY white chocolate which is prone to burning.
Her bars are going to be so dense the way she man handles the dough into the pan. Some people have good instincts in the kitchen and some don’t. Darlene for sure doesn’t and there’s nothing wrong with that but she pretends like she’s a pro. She has zero instincts and zero patience so she really should just stick to packages and store bought items. -
.Well now a days i see authors posting they dont want people to be reviewing one starts or even bookstagramers to tag them when there is a bad review. Which is annoying because how would they know to improve the plot. Good reads i use for the tags and keep track of the books i read thats all.
I stopped using good reads and now use Bookmory to track my reading. But I completely agree. All that reviews are is feedback. I can see where it may be difficult to have someone not like something you’ve poured your heart and soul into but A. That’s how you know to improve and B. Not all books are for everyone. No matter how technically perfect a book is written or how thought out the plot some people will hate it and some people will love it.
