I have heard from other influencers who’ve had kids that the advice that comes from being online is ridiculous and a lot to handle. So they will say no advice needed on a post. Or say they’re going silent for a time and they’ll post an update later. Basically just be up front and confident in their messaging. Things that Flaken can’t do — either because of her Flaken-ness or because she has a thin skin. Being a parent is tough and she doesn’t do tough

PS this is coming from a childless by choice person

I can’t wait for a baker to come across him working at a HomGoods or something in the next few months

I finished listening to The Mystery Guest (the follow up to The Maid) and it was sooooo good! I'm reading On Writing which is Stephan King's memoir specifically about writing. I'm a high school English teacher and I have tons of passages that I want to share with students about his journey as a writer. I'm about 1/3 done and I would recommend for sure

I know it doesn’t have concierge in the title but this one is the best! Concierge reminds me of an episode of The Office. Michael thinks Concierge Marie at their Canadian hotel is the height of class when he’s on a business trip

The Maid was so good! I heard the writer came out with something else recently that I’m on a million person waitlist for.

I think the nephew was an oops baby for her brother also . There’s quiet the gap between him and the nieces

I volunteer at a thrift store and I'm constantly moving adult fiction out of the YA section. Just because there's a cartoon on the cover doesn't mean it's a YA book!

I’m doing the PopSugar reading challenge again this year…maybe I’ll finish it this year 😵‍💫😅👌🏾 I try to read at least 50 books a year. Last year I got to 55

ETA I’m a high school English teacher so I read a lot of YA

At the beginning Spotify didn’t limit audiobook listening. Then they hooked us all and put a limit!!

I think the consensus was he was booted out. It could have been an end of contract timing issue ( maybe he started there mid-year).

I work at a charter school. We don't do contracts

    Thanks for the tips!

Which Agatha Christie books would you recommend? I've only read a couple, and seen some of the movies based on the books, and I also played one of the video games (the abc murders). I really need to check out more of her work because she's so influential! I'm trying to remember what the books I actually read where. I know it was Murder on the Orient Express which was very clever. I think the other one was some sort of collection about Poirot's cases. So I am pretty much open to any recommendations since I am such a novice when it comes to her.

I"ve read a lot of the holiday/Christmas stories and they're awesome!

Libro.Fm is another good audiobook app. You do have to pay for the books but you can designate an independent bookstore to get a cut of the profits. You can do a membership and they have good sales.

I just finished Moonflower Murders. If you like Agatha Christie, you’ll like this one. It’s long but there’s a book within the book. Very creative

I would love to get a list of Gene’s weird/old saying that she uses with alarming frequency:
    -flapping her trap
    -pleased as punch
-rumpus — technically misused but still used way too much
    -ablutions

Feel free to add your own

I also thought it was disgusting how Gene was so flabbergasted that CC couldn’t being a PBJ…it had to be another nut butter. Yay some children have terrible allergies and need more attention/accomedations than a post it on the automated toilets. That’s a gross side of someone who can’t empathize with a kid needing that

Even with all the perks that concierge brings, she'll still be jealous of the people with the white Pearl lanyards. She will look like a poor in the lounge with her lowly Gold status and yellow lanyard. :snickering: All you need is 20 more completed cruises Jen, and on your 26th, you'll finally be Pearl and get that white lanyard.

Do you think she'll continue to spend the big money for concierge?

Does anybody believe her kids are so picky that they only eat the same lunch ad nauseam? Earlier she went on and on about how much she hates, hates, hates to cook. And somehow miraculously, her kids only like to eat the same thing over and over.

I don’t believe that for a second, specially because considering their other parent is a chef, they eat all different kinds of things.
Jen doesn’t like to cook and does the bare minimum, and the kids only eat the same thing because maybe thats the only thing they can stomach over there.

I just watched the monthly goals video (that was a day late...) and I'm confused. It sounds like Laken or someone was ADAMANT that their daughter start swim class ASAP. To the point of choosing a swim school that wasn't their first choice. Laken even mentioned their even still going to go for the free class at the top choice when Lyla turns six months. I feel like this is a Jen Ross-ism...they're already tapped with ideas on how to parent their baby and NEED things like swim class to entertain her. If it was me (and I just have a dog mind you), I would have just waited the two months to go to the swim school I actually wanted. Anyway....that's my observation of her weird-ness
