I will start by saying that I don't normally watch her videos. I happened to watch the video of her McMansion new build. No one needs a house like that! These people have egos off the charts! An entire video of bragging. Not a fan.

How has she not learned to pronounce "columns"?

Wow, Linda reads here. I was the one who said that people couldn't use the handrails because of the plant pots next to them. Well, in her latest video, she said that some people are saying that the handrails can't be used and she showed that they can be used. I agree about one of them, but the one next to the wood pile, I don't think that one can be used.

She showed a beverage dispenser that she used for Easter when she had people over. She raved about it. I wouldn't want to drink out of it. That thing will be a magnet for bacteria growing in it, especially being kept outside in the sun.

She showed the side of the house. I still can't understand why those houses were built so close together. There must be plenty of land in Oklahoma.

The earthquake today (4.8 magnitude) was near where Sophia lives. I was wondering about her collections so I went to her Instagram. She posted on Instagram that all of her Corningware is safe and there was no damage to her house.

I just watched her video "Preparing for the Day ⟡ little joys, planning and bad hair days." I don't get all of the pinning up of her hair that she did at the end of the video. She pinned both sides back with bobby pins that showed. Not very attractive. Then she pinned the whole back under. She curled it all with bobby pins and then plastered it down flat. Why did she even bother with the pin curls? She should just get a bob cut.

She tries to use those silly electric pruners saying “like plants we all need a good haircut”. Linda’s the last person that should mention a good haircut.

Ha Ha. I laughed at that! :hearty-laugh:

I see where Linda got more plants---a delivery of 30 plants, shrubs and trees. I find her excess to be overwhelming. Who buys like that? The men were planting the trees in pots in the soil. I wonder if these are ones that she will have removed and over-wintered in the greenhouse. In a prior video, when she mentioned that she over-winters some plants in a commercial greenhouse, I was astounded. I had never heard of anyone doing this.

She showed a large planter box that she bought from Amazon. It cost almost $100. She bought two of them. Money is no object with her.

I noticed that she has large pots on the back steps, next to her new railings. That is a safety hazard because a person won't be able to use the railing.

I think that Linda and Sydney had a falling out after the house was sold. There did seem to be some problems with the house; for example, water in the basement. I'm not familiar with Oklahoma real estate laws to know what has to be disclosed. Linda probably watches Sydney's videos, although she would never admit it. It must be hard for her to watch Sydney rip out the things that Linda did inside and outside of the house.

Overall, I like the inside of Linda's new house. It has a more modern style, but is still traditional in some aspects. I like Linda's style, even the thrifting. I go to Goodwill myself and have bought some great things there. There really is no need to pay Pottery Barn prices for decor. In fact, I recently bought a Pottery Barn lumbar pillow there. Pottery Barn lumbar pillows cost $70-$100 for the cover only. I bought one at Goodwill for $4.99. I threw out the polyester pillow that was inside and washed and ironed the cover. I put in a new insert and it looks brand new. Same thing with baskets. I had a hard time finding the basket that I was looking for and ended up paying $30 for a Pottery Barn basket. A few months later, I walked into Goodwill and found the exact basket I was looking for, for $3.99.

Linda has many large pieces of artwork in her home. Although most of it is not my style (especially the southwestern art), I think she is very fortunate to have that art collection. That is one thing that I regret not buying over the years.

I think the outside of Linda's house looks a mess. I just don't like the look of making the entire front yard into a cottage garden. I like the English cottage style of the house, but I think that the proportions are off in relation to the land that it is on. The large sidewalk from the street to the house looks too grand for the size of the house and Linda emphasized it by putting the urns on each side of the steps that are near the street.

The one thing that I do not like about Linda, and to some extent, Sydney, is the excess materialism that they exhibit. It is constant spending. Linda HAD to replicate the window box planter that she had at her old house. How many people would have a planter built of that size, with a custom sized metal liner built? Also, all of the brick patio work done, in the front and back yard. She probably spent over $20,000 for masonry work, including the front side walk and the work on the side of the house. Sydney also spends money like it's going out of style. She HAD to have a new kitchen. Getting back to Linda, she must have had 25 pumpkins for Fall, in every color. Plus, they both plant thousands of bulbs and buy hundreds of shrubs and perennials (and trees for Linda). That is what I mean by excess. I find it off-putting.

What a joke! She definitely thought that four people were going to fit at that table. She even had Scott try the four plates. For three people, she didn't need to build the bench. As itch2switch said, she should have bought three chairs. It would have looked better.

It's too small for even three people. Yes, the three plates fit on it, but there is no room for glasses and silverware. So, for two people, they should just sit on the stools at the counter.

I predict that that whole set-up, or at least the bench, will be gone by the end of the year.

Why is she cutting down a shower curtain instead of buying real curtains? I wouldn't trust Sophia with curtains. Remember when she put curtains on the landing of the stairs going upstairs? I think she cut those curtains down but didn't have enough fabric. One panel wasn't long enough but she just left it that way. One side was longer than the other side.

I don't care for Sydney. Not sure why. I think it's her personality. As far as the house, she did improve the front by taking out a lot of the plants and showing more grass. I don't like her interior style. I live in New England, so southwestern style doesn't appeal to me. I do think that interior decor should somewhat match the style of the house, and in this case, it doesn't. I also don't understand where they get the money to do all of the things that they are doing to the house, being that they are relatively young.

Getting back to Linda's channel, Leah is just plain goofy, especially for her age. She is strange.

I was going to quote some posts, but I agree with all of you!

She has no room for a table in that kitchen. She should just accept it. She should have never put that counter above the dog crates. I always thought it made it crowded in that corner. Her idea of building shelves on the side of the counter is crazy. There is no room there. And just to make a place for the mushroom cannisters? The mushroom cannisters should go; they're ugly, anyway. Just removing the counter will make more room in that area and people will be more likely to use the stools at the counter.

What does she have against windows? She covered up one window with the Corning Ware and now she's bitching about the window in the corner. There are two nice windows in that corner. I'm not buying her story that no light comes in and the deck is ugly to look at. She's done videos where she fixed up the deck, including new furniture and plants. Those two windows in the corner are a great feature in her kitchen. She doesn't recognize that.

Why does she have three lasagna pans in the Spice of Life pattern? She has no need for three of them. That's just hoarding.

And those chairs in that store room....she keeps them because they were "grandpa's" right? I can get behind keeping a family piece if it's out, used, viewed, enjoyed....but those two chairs have been stuff in the boiler room for as long as I can remember ---- just drying out and disintegrating?

I've noticed that if something came from Scott's family, she keeps it. When she was decluttering the curio cabinet, she came to the milk glass collection. It was clearly not a favorite of hers. I said out loud "Get rid of it". But it came from Scott's family, so it stayed. I think that is because she knows that the majority of the clutter in the house is hers, so she lets Scott keep his few items. She doesn't even ask him. Who knows, it might be an issue that has come up before between them.

The Chinese silk curtains that she raved about how fabulous the fabric was and then put back in the box---Why didn't she use those curtains when she redecorated her bedroom? She could have picked a paint color that went with them. She said that there were two panels and a valance. She only has one window in her bedroom, so where else would they ever be used in her house? Instead she put up some cheap blue curtains with grommets.

And she talked about not asking Scott to declutter (obviously a response to what was said here). While I agree with her that it is not appropriate to declutter someone else's stuff, I do think she should have asked Scott to declutter his books before she continued with decluttering her books. In that video, she talked about not knowing how much room she had for her books because Scott's books were still there. That made no sense to me.

I couldn't believe it when she said a bathroom remodel would be 3-5 thousand dollars (in New Jersey, no less). It would be more like $20,000 to take out everything and start from scratch. That is what is needed. It's possible that she could find a corner vanity to fit (the baseboard heating is close to the sides). She would need to hire a plumber for that. She could probably pull out the medicine cabinets herself and replace them (or replace one and patch the hole in the wall for the other one). Doing those two things would make a huge difference. They need to start a bathroom remodel fund. Maybe cut out the summer vacation and do a staycation this year. And less eating out and more selling of her heirlooms.
